When I feel sick, I turn to alternative medicine therapies and, at the same time, I look within for spiritual implications. In other words, I self-treat in a mind, body and spirit way.
Self-treatment requires and extraordinary degree of self-responsibility. It is a choice that involves consistent self-monitoring and self-responsibility. Nothing here should be construed as replacement for any needed medical attention.
Because I approach my own health from a spiritual wellness perspective, inclusive of not only the physical body but also the mind, emotions and Spirit (an approach I will call Sacred Living), I work from the premise that physical illness is almost always preceded by some degree of emotional, mental, or spiritual imbalance.
From that perspective, optimal health can best occur when we embrace wellness from a spiritual point of view and taking care of the body as part of a Sacred Trust.
Part of that Sacred Trust agreement is allowing the body to heal at it's best pace. For example, just because I talk a great deal about detoxing the body on this site, it doesn't mean that detoxing is the best option for everyone or at all times.
The same could be said of every beneficial nutrient I talk about, from vitamins to minerals to herbal remedies. Just because an herb or vitamin is good doesn't mean every person will need it. It's important, very important, to research and educate oneself on both the health challenge and the remedies available, whether natural or prescription.
The educational information provided on this website is primarily from an natural health perspective which is inclusive of spiritual wellness, although traditional western medicine information is included as well.
