There are lot so different types of wraps so how do you decide which one to try? Well, it depends on what you want to accomplish.

If you read the ingredient list on lots of wraps, they seem to have the same ingredients, for example herbs and clay or mud, or minerals. However, there are many different herbs with different purposes.

When the Goal is Weight Loss or Pain Relief: Lipase is in a lot of weight loss wraps because lipase is the enzyme that breaks down fat so if reducing body fat is a goal, ask about an enzyme wrap containing lipase and Infrared wraps are good for joint pain and may help with arthritis or other aches and pains, as well as toning and inch loss over time.

Toning, Skin Care and Detoxing: For toning the skin and detoxing, various types of clay are useful, although there are also clays that may help with weight loss and joint pain, just as the lipase and infrared options mentioned above. Good communication with your salon tech will help you find the best option but they can't read your mind so be clear on what your goals are from the beginning session.

Different types of clay have specific healing, detoxing or toning properties. Some clays are better for cleansing toxins and would are usually the kinds of clay used in a detoxing body wrap while others are more cleansing and toning at a surface skin level, and better for creating that glowing youthful look to your skin.

Depending on the herbs or supplements included in a wrap formula, a good bodywrap can also help with conditions such as stretchmarks, varicose veins and even cellulite. For example, seaweed is a great ingredient to look for in any bodywrap intended to help with any of those skin conditions.

Custom Wraps: It may not be on the menu at your salon but you can always ask for a custom formula or a mix of several that are offered. The worst they can say is no.

Whichever option you choose, just remember that inch or weight loss from a single body wrap, however good, is temporary loss, water weight loss, and not to be relied on as a weight loss approach. Occasionally, this type of quick inch loss wrap could help you fit into a wedding gown or swimsuit for a day. Consistency is key to achieve success with bodywrapping for weight loss, along with a well-designed nutrition and fitness program.

Health Care Disclaimer: Herbal supplements, detox programs, cleanses and body wraps are for otherwise healthy people who just need to lose weight. If you are under a doctor's care for any known condition, please consult with your doctor before trying any of the suggestions in this or other nutritional or dietary reports.
